DGMK Implements Platform for Energy Provider GASAG to Digitize Customers

DGMK Deutsche Gesellschaft für multimediale Kundenbindungssysteme mbH has developed a new digital customer loyalty program for the Berlin-based energy provider GASAG with the benefits world GASAG DEALS. The platform’s primary goal is to permanently digitize GASAG’s existing customers and to support and retain them within the customer portal “Meine GASAG”. In the past six months, up to more than 10 percent of customers have already been additionally transformed through attractive content, modern communication tools, and technologies. The newly created high attractiveness of GASAG DEALS as an integral part of the customer portal not only achieves activation of existing customers but potentially also attracts new ones in the future.

With GASAG DEALS, together with DGMK, we have created a forward-looking digital solution that, in addition to the simple digital management of their contract data, also makes everyday life easier for our customers through many useful benefits,” says Matthias Trunk, member of the GASAG Group’s Executive Board.

Customer Relationship in the Era of Digitization
The digital transformation opens up diverse opportunities for the development of innovative customer loyalty systems in the energy sector. For GASAG’s benefits world, DGMK developed an individual strategy for the energy group to transition existing customers from offline to online and to potentially acquire new customers. With the implementation of their own benefits world GASAG DEALS, including website, newsletter, and smartphone application, intelligent tools for digitization were created with exciting and lucrative content in a contemporary form. This is accompanied by the development of their own social media community. After six months, the weekly GASAG DEALS newsletter has a size of 20,000 active subscribers. The social media channels Instagram and Facebook are used by over 10,000 followers and also achieve a weekly reach of 350,000 people across Germany.

“Through constant touchpoints between GASAG and its existing customers, we were able to significantly improve the customer experience and customer loyalty. Instead of receiving only the annual electricity bill in the mailbox, we offer attractive content and offers that interest customers on a weekly basis,” adds Daniel-Jan Girl, CEO of DGMK.

Benefits World: Daily and Digital Customer Contact
For the benefits world GASAG DEALS, over 55 different companies and institutions from the areas of mobility, culture, daily needs, leisure, and sports have already been acquired, offering exclusive benefits of up to 50 percent to GASAG customers. The weekly changing DEAL OF THE WEEK is also aimed at non-customers of GASAG. A simple registration by email is sufficient to use the benefit.

The permanent shopping vouchers for GASAG customers are available in the customer portal MEINE GASAG or in the GASAG DEALS app in the Apple AppStore and Google PlayStore. The discounts can be used – depending on the benefit offer and partner – via a link in the respective partner’s online store, by printing a voucher, or via the app by showing the voucher on the smartphone. The offer is transparent and openly viewable at www.gasagdeals.de.

The new benefits world brings customers together with the various partner companies of GASAG. In addition to Berlin institutions, nationwide companies are also part of the network. Partners include mobility partners such as Miles, SIXT, or Nextbike, as well as well-known shopping brands like CHRIST, Mister Spex, Koro, Ravensburger, Höffner, or Hello Fresh.
